Born in Lisbon (Portugal) in 1988, where he lives and works as a visual artist and teacher. He studied Painting and Drawing at Ar.Co – Centro de Arte e Comunicação Visual, completing the Advanced Course in Visual Arts (2012) and resuming his research with the completion of a Master’s degree in Painting at the Faculty of Fine Arts – Universidade de Lisboa (2021). His work, as an oneiric inquiry, employs image and sound as a form of anthropology or fiction, refering to a mythical immanence of memory.
He has exhibited regularly since 2010, highlithing the solo exhibitions Mirror Maze at the Natural History Museum, Lisbon; Stella at Espaço Pontes, Fundão (2023); and Mastaba at Fundação D. In addition, he is dedicated to art education as a teacher in the drawing and painting department at AR.CO; also at the BASE school of art; and also teaches printmaking at Atelier Cabine, a collective project he founded in 2016. He was assistant to the artist Miguel Branco and assisted in the conservation of the Culturgest–CGD collection. At the same time, he participated in various performance projects, notably Vítor Rua’s Ressoadores (Musicbox) and Rio Oriente in collaboration with António Poppe (Carpintarias S. Lázaro, Museu Vieira Silva). He also participated in the artist residencies of OSSO colectivo (S. Gregório), the Assilah International Printmaking (Morocco), CEAC (Vila Nova da Barquinha), and the Projecto Pontes (Fundão). In 2021, he was selected for the Arte Jovem - Milllenium BCP Award, and his work is represented in several private collections, including the Assilah Forum Foundation, CAC Málaga - Centro de Arte Contemporâneo, Múltiplos Carpe Diem, the Figueiredo Ribeiro Collection, and the Manuel de Brito Collection - Galeria 111. |
